I sometimes dare to wonder whether things as they go really go as they could and should. I mean if you think very much and try and pry you can't not wonder why crazy things happen. Like I mean why can one person be nice one day and take no prisoners another? Like I mean why can we build potent war machines age after age after age and advance their development rapidly and use them (gasp), while simply being smarter and ending suffering by mastering our own human nature instead would make more sense?
Mastering our only too human human nature is a worthy goal. It would serve to work towards limiting both our daily suffering and our resource destruction (particularly by saving the lives of scores of people), thereby serving to utilize resources better and make more people and their lives universally better.
My first point? The sooner the break from the caveman mentality arrives, the sooner human potential soars. Well, and my main point? I think you can make your own life and your loved ones', your co-workers', and your friends' lives better with simply more effort, tolerance and understanding.

It took a very, very long time to get to the point where we are asking these questions. Yet, our instincts push us to be selfish and sneaky. It will take a few millions of years more to ween out those primitive feelings.
ReplyDeleteI agree. The teacher in me thinks the road to take is effective education.
